Finger limes are called 'living fossils' because they have been in Australia's subtropics for around 18 million years. They have been eaten and used medicinally by Aboriginal people for up to 65,000 years. Finger lime pulp consists of small, spherical, juicy pearls which give them the nickname 'lime caviar.' The plant is associated with Aboriginal Dreamtime and is a symbol of abundance and fertility.

Finger lime is high in vitamins C and E. It is a good source of vitamin A, folate, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and fibre. Its phytonutrients are antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. They support collagen production, wound healing and skin health.

Finger limes can be cut at the end and squeezed like toothpaste. They can be used as garnishes for salads and desserts or added to drinks.
